Description

Cistercian Architecture: A Tour of Rome, Ciociaria, and Naples

• Day 1 – Rome: Visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. Lunch, then explore the Orange Garden on the Aventine Hill, the Church of Santa Maria del Priorato, and the Keyhole.
• Day 2 – Rome: Visit the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica (4 hours). Lunch and a tour of the must-see landmarks.
• Day 3 – Ciociaria: Visit Collepardo (Certosa di Trisulti), Casamari Abbey, and Veroli (Monastery of Sant’Erasmo). Stop at the Isola del Liri waterfall.
  • Collepardo to Casamari: 30 min
  • Casamari to Veroli: 13 min
• Day 4 – Ciociaria: Visit Arpino (2 options: cooking class or lavender at Meri), then Montecassino Abbey (1 hour from Arpino).
• Day 5 – Naples: Visit Certosa di San Martino and have lunch. Explore Spaccanapoli, the Spanish Quarters, Via San Gregorio Armeno, and Piazza Bellini.
• Day 6 – Naples: Visit the Marechiaro district, followed by lunch. Explore the Chapel of San Gennaro, Piazza del Plebiscito, and Castel dell’Ovo.
